The Japanese Bitters - Hinoki

Premium bitters showcasing ingredients of cultural significance in Japan. These bitters showcase Hinoki wood, aka Japanese cypress (a tree). 

Hinoki is a wood that is famous for its use in construction of temples, baths, and in Japanese incense. The wood has naturally anti-bacterial properties, similar to cedar.

The aroma is a joy to experience, and is both uplifting and grounding.  

The flavour is singular, but its closest comparison may be to cedar or palo santo. The Japanese Bitters company explored a combination of extraction techniques (gentle decoction under vacuum, and extract in alcohol) to achieve a balance between aroma and flavour that they were happy with.

These bitters will enhance the aromatic experience, and add depth and aroma to drinks using spirits aged in wood, such as whiskey and rum. (Non-alcoholic options of course are available.)

 NOTE: These cocktail bitters are made using alcohol. Only a few drops are intended to be used per drink. Those wishing to avoid alcohol altogether should not use these bitters. The ABV (alcohol by volume) on these is 27%.
