A subtly fruity easy-drinking ale flavoured with kiwi and blood orange, a nod to their facility’s former use as “the most vitamin dense area of the Netherlnds” due to its former use of warehousing fruit.
About the brand
Founded in 2021, Stadshaven Bouwerij is now the second-largest independent craft brewery in the Netherlands. They’re located on the Rotterdam waterfront in a former cargo warehouse.
In the 1970s a fruit importer took over the warehouse, and they were famous especially for bringing unique citrus fruits to the Netherlands, which Stads Haven honour today by incorporating unique fruits into some of their beers. Their name and beers reference nautical themes as well, which is surely just a reference to their location’s history of being a port. Stads Haven purport to value sustainability, using a ‘closed loop’ brewing system that wastes minimal water.
