An organic non-alcoholic white wine from Alsace showcasing Oddbird’s next level attention to process. This blend features Gewürztraminer, Riesling, Auxerrois, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, and Sylvaner.
Alsace is a region famous for its aromatic and textured white wines. A range of soil types (limestone, granite, clay) and varieties make for unique blends. It's also where Oddbird has established their wine research centre for the advancement of de-alcoholization technology and technique, an effort that is clearly paying off in a big way.
This wine impressed us tremendously for it's compelling balance of acid, body, freshness and the slightest wisps of funk that go straight to the brain's "wine centres." Not enormously aromatic despite the partial aromatic varietal inclusion in the blend, it is lean but not light, elegant but not entirely delicate. A major high water mark for non-alc wine in our books.
Orgnically farmed, hand harvested. Subtle aromatics include citrus, honey, and a touch of spice. Medium high acid provides an elegant frame for a surprisingly complex de-alcoholised white wine.
In the context of de-alcoholised wine, “low intervention” means no added flavours, thickeners, or sweeteners (sugar or reconstituted grape must), all of which you might expect to find in other mass market non-alcoholic wine products. Contains sulfites.
