Chocolate and coffee notes are balanced by a touch of bitterness from hops and roastiness from the malt, which is made up of a blend of Island-grown barley and oats.
(Same recipe as previously used when the brewery was known as Moon Under Water.)
About the brewery:
Brass Monkey, aka the brewery formerly known as Moon Under Water, has been brewing on site at their brewpub in Victoria, BC since 2012. They fly under the radar, just making solid beers year after year.
They launched their 'Dry Side of the Moon' non-alcoholic series in 2023 to much praise.
In 2025 the brewery rebranded to Brass Monkey, but half of the ownership team remains the same and they are using the same great beer recipes.
Each of the beers uses 100% organic Vancouver Island grown barley in the malt from Field Five Farm just outside Victoria. No preservatives are added to their beers.
