Mastiqua Sparkling Water 330ml

Carbonated water flavoured with mastiha or in english, ‘mastic’, which is resin harvested from the mastic tree on the island of Chios in the eastern Agean Sea. 

The flavour is suprisingly mellow given how aromatic it is - more woodsy than pine-y, with warm sweet notes reminiscent of palo santo or sandalwood. If you enjoy such scents you may enjoy the experience of sipping on this beautiful water. 

This water is flavoured with hydrosol (steam distillate) of real mastic. No additional ‘natural’ or ‘artificial’ flavours have been added. 

A bit more about mastiha or mastic:

The tree’s latin name is Pistacia lentiscus, and it is native to the mediterranean basin. It has also been grown in Turkey and Iraq but only in very specific conditions does it produce this resin.

Mastic, also called Tears of Chios, has been demonstrated to have anti-inflammatory properties, in particular in reducing symptoms associated with gut inflammation.
