Unglazed small tea cups with glazed lips for easy sipping, made by Laughing Gnome Pottery on the Olympic Peninsula in Washington State. These cups range in exact size and volume. Each has a rounded shape and flat bottom.
Inspired by the high-fired wares of Yixing and their renowned influence on the character of the liquid they hold, these are high-iron, high-fired ceramics that are ultra-hard, light-weight, with a fine microscopic porous clay body that will interact with water to soften flavours and impart minerality.
note - Some pieces have minor ‘imperfections’, ie not perfetlyround, some surface marks, etc. (Some of these are student/apprentice work - priced accordingly! As with anything handmade, ‘flaws’ simply add to the unique character of the piece and remind us they are handmade.)
The cups are listed from smallest to largestby volume, not exterior size, with their capacity noted. Colour refers to the glazed lip detail - all pieces are predominantly unglazed red clay.
