Who doesnt love a german weissbier?! An iconic and very solid wheat beer from a brewery that only makes wheat beer. Germans of course are a nation of beer lovers (#10 in the world for beer consumed per capita), and Germany is where the first de-alcoholised beers and wines were made, so they lead in the non-alc world too.

Erdinger are billing their Alkohokfrei weissbier as a sports recovery drink. Hey, why not! You may have heard of German athletes drinking beer after marathons or after medalling at the olympics - and it’s specifically non-alcoholic wheat beers that they believe are a healthier recovery drink option than sweet supplemented sports drinks. Fewer calories than full strength wheat beer, but enough to replenish yourself after extended physical activity. 

Erdinger also claims the drink is ‘isotonic’, meaning it is absorbed into the blood efficiently, and claims it contains vitamin B9 (folate) and B12. (These would be whatever quantity is naturally ocurring in the malted grain.)

0.4%, not too heavy, nice cereal-y flavour. 30mg of calcium, too.
