Domaine La Madura 'Alternative 0.0%' St. Chinion Red

A beautiful full-bodied non-alc red produced without sulphites or pesticides in the Languedoc appellation of St. Chinian.

A blend of 48 % Grenache, 19 % Carignan, 22 % Mourvèdre and 11 % Syrah, La Madura have beautifully managed the ripeness, elegantly balancing big fruit notes (stewed strawberry, black cherry, plum) with savoury herbal notes and fresh acidity and fine lingering tannins. 

Aromatic in the glass, weighted but spritely on the palate, with length and finesse, this wine is downright delicious. For us, a top tier expression of the potential of non-alcoholic wines. Moreish, scrumptious, and lacking nothing. Top class stuff!

About La Madura

A husband and wife viticulture estate founded in 1995, they have produced this wine with the same care and processes as their alcoholic cuvees, with hand harvesting, natural fermentation without addition of sulphur, and as much attention and patience in the cellar as in the field. Although they were initially skeptical as to whether non-alc would be "worth it" for them, since giving it a shot, they have been delighted at the results and the reception.
