A sophisticated Pinot Noir from Divin's premium 'Vigneron' line.
This wine is made from fruit from old vines from select vineyard plots near Touraine in France’s famous Loire Valley.
Notes of cherry, redcurrant, and strawberry lead to a finely textured body with subtle herb and spice notes. A touch of caramel rounds out the finish. This wine is medium bodied. Because it is light to medium bodied, and has a pleasant acidity, it is very versatile for pairing with food - from cheese and charcuterie to more delicate veggie-forward dishes, this wine shines alongside food.
The wine is fermented in stainless to preserve its lively red fruit notes, before a small portion spends time in oak barrels, which adds texture, integrates the tannins, and imparts a delicate caramel note to temper the bright fruit notes.
Compared Divin’s own 0.0% series Pinot, this non-alcoholic wine offers impressive nuance and complexity, and is a prime example of what can be achieved in non-alcoholic wine.
No added flavours, sweeteners, or thickeners. 2023 vintage. 0.5% ABV.
A high-water mark for non-alc red wine, this is one we love and recommend whole- heartedly.
About Divin
A family-owned operation with 100 hectares of vineyards in France’s Loire Valley, primarily around the Touraine area. Their ‘vigneron’ series sees them using primarily old-vine fruit from select vineyards to create wines of greater intensity and complexity, with the aim of retaining some of this nuance post-de-alcoholisation.
They specialize in classic Loire valley grapes such as Chenin Blanc and Sauvignon blanc. Pinot Noir excels in this mineral-driven cool climate region, and Divin take great care to retain it’s natural potential for freshness, acidity, and texture.
