Bellwoods have been playing around with fruited sours for a while now, with their lineup of full strength fruit sours numbering in the double digits. What a treat to have multiple non-alcoholic sour options from them - their unfruited dry hopped sour, as well as this Raspberry and Blackberry version.
Dry hopping adds naturally bright peachy aromatics, then conditioning the beer directly on the fresh fruit adds beautiful colour and flavour without becoming too sweet or cloying. (As opposed to blending fruit in prior to fermentation, which can tend to rob the final product of both the colour and delicate aromatics we love.)
Of course when you get real farm products involved it does add to the price of the inputs, but worth it don’t you think, for this delicious beverage?

About Bellwoods Brewery
Founded in 2012 in Toronto, Bellwoods has built a small craft empire in a short span of time. Originally a small brewpub in the heart of the city, brewing (and barrel ageing) now happens at their facility in North York, but they still hold down a couple retail shops in the city.
Not defined by any one style of beer, Bellwoods is known to play around, but with a healthy stack of barrels in rotation they’re often exploring unique ales and interesting sours. That having been said their beers run the gamut, so you can expect to find a crispy lager (their words) or an aromatic IPA in the mix as well.
