Lucano Amaro Zero

TASTING NOTES:

Rosemary and chamomile lead to citrus and spice on the palate, before finishing with pleasantly bitter and earthy note.

Over ice or neat, there's lots going on here and unlike some alcohol free products, it's actually super enjoyable to sip on its own. If you are a fan of an after dinner drink or enjoy bittersweet/herbal beverages, you will enjoy having a bottle of this in your fridge.

That having been said, because it's already complex and balanced you could have a lot of fun using this in cocktails. 

ABOUT THE BRAND:

Amaro, Italy's favourite bittersweet digestivo, has many styles and makers. Lucano is a family-owned business from the south of Italy. Lucano dates back to 1894 when the founder blended up a batch in his bakery. Mmm, amaro and biscotti, sounds pretty good.

Classic Lucano is built on a citrus peel base, as many amari are, with a blend of 30 digestive herbs like wormwood, clary sage, and chamomile. The process to extract, blend, and rest the product takes more than 5 months.

Lucano Amaro Zero, their relatively new non-alcoholic offering, uses a slightly different herb blend but manages to match the flavour and complexity of the original very well, even though the process must be entirely different. (There is little information disclosed.) This is an excellent entry into the category - and possibly the first alcohol free amaro?
