Codorníu Zero - non-alcoholic (0.5% ABV) cava from a historic wine producer.
Made from xarello grapes that are de-alcoholised under vacuum, before being sweetened, carbonated, and lightly flavoured. The wine is off dry, with notes of melon and apricot.
Perfect as an aperitif or for mixing in your favourite sparkling wine cocktails for a beautiful non-alcoholic option.
Due to the de-alcoholisation process, the wine needs to be artifically carbonated (compared to its ‘traditional method’ alcoholic counterpart.)
Fruity, bright, frothy.
About Codorníu
Supposedly Codorniu has been making wine since 1551, making it the oldest wine producer in Spain? (Before “Spain” was Spain?)
Cava is Spain’s answer to champagne - it’s a sparkling wine made in the ‘traditional method’, meaning the 2nd fermentation, which creates the bubbles, takes place in the bottle.
Codorniu claims to be the first winery in Spain to make sparkling wine using the traditional method, i.e., the originators of ‘cava’, in 1872.
