Proxies 'Blanc Slate' by Acid League

Proxies, a line up of wine-style drinks from Acid League, were some of the first to the 'wine proxy' scene.

What's a wine proxy? It's not de-alcoholised wine - it's a blend of different ingredients built to mimic different flavour profiles we might enjoy while drinking wine. 

'Blanc Slate' is built to fill the role of a 'Crisp & Zesty White', a from a base of Sauvignon Blanc grape juice and verjus it does just that. Elaborated with kiwi and grapefruit concentrates, fleshed out with two kinds of white tea, and complicated with extracts of galangal, Makrut lime, and habenero (for flavour not for heat!), the sum of these parts is an engaging and mineral-driven sipper.

We love how these drinks make use of varied and whole botanical ingredients to forge a complex and unique new category, and Blanc Slate was the entry-point for us in particular. As soon as it hit our glass we could not deny that something compelling and new was before us.
